Item A: Under discussion, with possible action resulting, will be the recent demolition of structures in the Sunset Junction area – and, specifically, whether any commitments were made but broken by the developer to SLNC and 13th Council District representatives — were promises made to meet further before deciding upon and taking decisive action? 13th City Council staff will be present and participating; the developer has been invited and hopefully will attend and participate.
Item B: Under discussion, with possible action resulting, will be the new concrete wall now obscuring a Silver Lake storefront at the southeast corner of Sunset Blvd. and Sanborn Avenue, enclosing what appears to be a patio for an expansion of Cafe Stella . The wall annoys pedestrians and disturbs the aesthetic character and quality of the Sunset Junction area, and so questions have been raised about what the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council may have reviewed and found agreeable, or not. This wall and attendant issues, and related procedures, will be discussed for that reason, as might be the potential for a POD — Pedestrian Overlay District — in that area. CD 13 staff is invited to participate, as will be the property owner.
