City Council Public Safety Committee Approves Ordinance Making “Party Houses” a Misdemeanor

The Los Angeles City Council Public Safety Committee has approved a motion that will make it a misdemeanor to specifically rent a house to someone for the express purpose of holding a party. The new regulation was spearheaded by CD4 Council Member David Ryu and has been followed closely by the SLNC. According to an article in the Beverly Hills Press, the ordinance “ will put “…teeth in city regulations to prevent homeowners from renting their houses for loud, massive parties.” The motion will next be considered by the LA City Council.
