Community Issues Tackled in Vision & Goals Meeting

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council (SLNC) held the first of two annual Vision and Goals community meetings on February 9 at the Holy Virgin Mary Cathedral. The meeting was well attended by community members and a range of issues facing Silver Lake were discussed, including homelessness, traffic and congestion, property development, parking, crime and community and sustainability. Attendees formed work groups to identify underlying causes for each issue and to create practical solutions. Those solutions and suggestions may be referred to the appropriate SLNC advisory committee for further vetting. The consensus was that it was a productive and inclusive meeting.
