Next Reservoir Meeting on March 22

Emptied Silver Lake Reservoir (LADWP)

The next community meeting on the Silver Lake Reservoir refill project, which will restore the iconic reservoir to its historic 440-foot level, will take place at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Ivanhoe Elementary School. The update will be presented by the Los Angeles Department of Power and Water (LADWP) and will include information on when the shade balls will be removed and progress on the pipeline that will transport water from Pollock Wells at Ripple Street and Worthern Avenue to the reservoir. LADWP previously announced that the pipeline would travel from Ripple Street to Fletcher Drive to the intersection of Glendale Boulevard and then connect with an existing pipeline. Construction will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and refilling of the reservoir is projected to begin on schedule in May 2017.
