Pipe Dreams: DWP Lays Pipe to Refill Reservoir

Emptied Silver Lake Reservoir (LADWP)

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has begun work to lay the 12-inch pipeline that will transport water from Pollock Wells at Ripple Street and Worthern Avenue to the Silver Lake Reservoir and restore it to its historic 440-foot level. The pipeline will travel from Ripple Street to Fletcher Drive to the intersection of Glendale Boulevard and then connect with an existing pipeline. Construction will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and refilling of the reservoir is scheduled to begin in May 2017. LADWP plans to hold an update meeting at Ivanhoe Elementary School in March, and the SLNC will continue to provide updates in this newsletter.
