Water Flows, Community Celebrates

SLNC Vice Chairman Jerome Courshon, CD 4 Councilmember David Ryu, SLNC C0-chair Anne-Marie Johnson and CD4 Field Deputy Adam Miller at Silver Lake Reservoir refill.
On Tuesday, members of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, Department of Water and Power officials, CD4 Councilmember David Ryu, CD13 Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, and community organizations that worked to restore the reservoirs to a historic 440-450 feet, celebrated as a valve was opened that allowed water to flow into the iconic Ivanhoe Reservoir. (See ABC video.) Thanks to a record snowpack in the Eastern Sierras, the highly-anticipated refill will be completed in two months rather than a year.  Once the Ivanhoe Reservoir is filled, water will spill into the adjacent Silver Lake Reservoir.
