SLNC Transportation and Safety Committees Merge

The SLNC Governing Board has voted to combine the Transportation and Public Works Committee with the Public Safety Committee. The new committee will be named Transportation and Neighborhood Safety.  Doug Loewy, co-chair of the Transportation and Public Works Committee, said, ““These committees work on many overlapping issues, such as traffic congestion, speeding vehicles and failure to adhere to stop signs.  Combining them will encourage more stakeholder participation in meetings and help committee members deal with issues more efficiently.”   The Transportation and Public Works Committee recently reviewed increasing concerns about the Waze traffic app and progress on a pedestrian activated signal at Van Pelt and Silver Lake Boulevard.
