Beautifying Silver Lake

Thanks to a public-private partnership between the City of Los Angeles and City Plants, 24 Gold Medallion trees will be planted on Sunset Boulevard between Micheltorena Street and Benton Way. Council District 13 Field Representative Mary Rodriquez reports that concrete has been cut in 21 locations for the spectacular trees, which will be watered by non-profit organizations.

And Council District 4 Field Representative Adam Miller reports that Los Angeles Conservation Corps Green Teams are beautifying Silver Lake, removing overgrown vegetation and cleaning up trash and garbage that is littered on roadways and sidewalks. LA Corps works with under-served youths and young adults though environmental projects, job-skills training and educational programs. The Green Teams regularly clean and maintain streets throughout CD13 and CD4 in Silver Lake.
