LADWP to Address Power Outages at SLNC Committee Meeting

Due to concerns about ongoing power outages in Silver Lake, a representative of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will attend the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council’s (SLNC) Transportation and Neighborhood Safety Committee meeting on Tuesday, September 5, to provide information and answer questions. The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Silver Lake Library.

“Although power outages in Silver Lake do not compare to the ongoing tragedy in Houston, the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council takes all issues that impact our community seriously,” said Jerome Courshon, Vice Chairman of the SLNC. “Therefore, the LADWP will be attending our next Transportation and Neighborhood Safety Committee to explain what those issues are, and how they can be addressed.”

LADWP will also discuss practices to conserve energy and address any power failures during the current heat wave. The most recent power outages were on August 29 and August 18.
