Third “Words Can Help…and Hurt” Discussion to Focus on LGBTQ Misconceptions

The third in a series of open discussions presented by the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council and the Silver Lake Library will explore misconceptions and stereotypes that can negatively impact members of the LGBTQ community.  The “Words Can Help…or Hurt: Gender and Sexual Identity” community forum will take place from 6:00 to 7:45 p.m., Monday, November 13, at the Silver Lake Library, 2411 Glendale Blvd. Silver Lake 90039. Panelists Anna Margarita Albelo, an out, Cuban-American writer, director and producer; Julianne “Jules” Sohn, Senior Lead Officer and LGBTQ liaison, Los Angeles Police Department; and Drian Juarez, program manager, Transgender Economic Empowerment Project will guide the conversation and answer questions.
