SLNC Launches ‘Slow Down Silver Lake’ Campaign

To combat the dangerous impact of speeding on neighborhood streets, the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council has launched a community wide campaign to remind motorists to slow down and drive safely. The pilot project includes eye-catching “Slow Down Silver Lake” yard signs, which will be distributed by representatives in each of the Neighborhood Council’s seven regions, along with a social media campaign. “Due to more cut through traffic, road rage and irresponsible drivers, speeding on neighborhood streets has reached a crisis level,” said SLNC Co-chair Anne-Marie Johnson. “The Slow Down signs will serve as a daily reminder that residents of all ages live and play in Silver Lake and deserve safe streets.”  If you’re interested in a yard sign to deter speeding, contact outreach@silverlakenc.org.
