Moms, Dads and Kids Celebrate New Silver Lake Rec Center Play Structures

Two highly-anticipated neighborhood playground structures were unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held August 1 at the Silver Lake Recreation Center. CD 13 Counclmember Mitch O’Farrell, Assemblymember Laura Friedman, District 43, members of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, Recreation Department officials and staff and a large gathering of parents and children turned out to cheer the new play areas, which have shade elements and rubberized ground coverings. Casey Revkin, outgoing president of the MOMS Club of Silver Lake, spoke on behalf of the organization, which worked with CD13 and Rec and Parks to obtain the structures. The Rec Center is located at 1850 W. Silver Lake Drive.
