LADWP Updates Plans for Fletcher Drive Pipeline Project

LADWP Pump Station on Fletcher Drive. Lanes on Fletcher Drive will be closed for a shorter period of time because a significant portion of the new pipeline will be routed on LADWP property behind the Apostolic Faith Church.

At the November 7 SLNC board meeting, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) presented an updated overview of the project to replace aging water pipes along Fletcher Drive. Work is still expected to last six months and start in December/January. Due to the scope of the work, the right-hand turn lane from Fletcher to Glendale Boulevard, along with one left-hand turn lane, will be closed for three months, most likely from April to June of 2019.  Project Manager Gabriel Vargas noted that LADWP is evaluating adding additional traffic patrols at key intersections during construction, such as Riverside Drive and Fletcher and Fletcher and Glendale Boulevard. LADWP is also working to minimize the impact of the project on businesses, organizations  and pedestrians. LADWP will present final plans for lane closures at an SLNC meeting in February.
