SLNC Moves Forward on WAZE Issues and Community-Wide Traffic Safety Plan

At its January 23 meeting, the SLNC Traffic and Neighborhood Safety Committee announced plans to hold a WAZE/Silver Lake Traffic Safety Plan Community Meeting. Committee Co-chair Tony Michaelis said the tentative date is March 20, based on venue availability. The Committee will invite Councilmembers David Ryu and Mitch O’ Farrell, the L.A. City Attorney and representatives from the Department of Transportation (DOT), LAPD, and Google to attend. The Committee, also passed a motion asking the SLNC to create a neighborhood incident website, after several residents of Earl Street expressed ongoing concerns about cut-through traffic.  Subsequently, Co-chair Michaelis scheduled a meeting with local DOT representatives and residents of Earl Street. Read more updates, including flooding on West Silver Lake and plans to resurface Ivanhoe Drive.
