LADWP Previews New Energy-Efficient Hoover Yards Facility

Plans include an electric-charged fleet, public charging stations and LEED Gold Certification.

At last night’s SLNC meeting, an LADWP design team presented plans for a new project to replace the decades-old Hoover Yards. Preliminary plans for the energy-efficient facility include a community meeting space, public electric vehicle charging stations and a display of historic street lamps. LADWP anticipates the final design will be completed during 2020 and work, including demolition of the existing yard, will take place from 2020 to 2022. Additional presentations will be made to the community in 2019.  The LADWP design team attending the meeting included Jenny Tsang, Aiden Leong, Frank nan-fei Hsu and Nadia Parker; Kate Diamond and John Leopardi from design firm HDR made the presentation. Located between Virgil, Melrose, Clinton and Hoover, Hoover Yards borders Silver Lake.
