Improving
Silver Lake for Everyone

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council works to honor diversity, build community, forge bonds with neighboring communities, and promote participation in city governance and decision-making processes to improve the quality of life for all of Silver Lake’s Stakeholders.

Our collective success relies on your engagement and participation.

The SLNC’s main job is to communicate and amplify the needs of Silver Lake to the LA City Council. Composed of a democratically elected, entirely volunteer board, the SLNC is given a budget from the city to allocate towards different needs in Silver Lake.

Have an immediate City-related need? Email us at board@silverlakenc.org or through MyLA311 will connect you directly with city resources and is the official City of Los Angeles resource.

The Governing Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month to discuss and vote on community and funding issues.

The Board, and attendees, also hears updates from representatives on behalf of local safety, the Mayor’s office, Council Districts 4 and 13 representatives, and Assembly District 52.

Join a Governing Board Meeting or Committee Meeting! Each meeting has room for public comment and they provide an excellent opportunity to raise an issue or to get involved.

See our master calendar for details.

You can also subscribe to receive Silver Lake Neighborhood Council agendas electronically via this link.

ASK SILVER LAKE

Silver Lake's past, present, and future are celebrated and documented through the many stories that have been shared in photography, art, architecture and design, storytelling, and even social movements. Land Acknowledgement

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council acknowledges all of the original stewards and inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin, or Tovaangar, and their descendants. We pay tribute to the Gabrielino-Tongva (Toviscanga) people who lived and cared for Yaanga & Maawnga—the lands which include present day Silver Lake—as well as the Kizh, Chumash, & Fernandeno-Tataviam Band who also inhabited Tovaangar.
