Keeping Silver Lake Beautiful: Project Updates

The SLNC has approved an $800 Neighborhood Purpose Grant to clean up medians under the 101 Freeway and Silver Lake Boulevard. The Rampart Neighborhood Council will also fund the project, which will begin immediately.  The SLNC Governing Board also approved spending $200 to supply dog bags at the dog park and reservoir, which it has done in the past, and the Silver Lake Reservoirs Conservancy has agreed to match funding. CD13 is working with businesses and community members along Sunset Blvd between Micheltorena Street and Silver Lake Boulevard to beautify the area by planting 30 trees, conducting a cleanup, and power washing the sidewalks in May.

And an important reminder:  The Office of Community Beautification is a good resource for graffiti removal. You can request service by downloading the 311 app or calling 311. For Council Districts 4 and 13, you can also contact Gerry Valido at or 213-978-0223.  LEARN MORE
