Ivanhoe Reservoir to be Temporarily Drained

Starting the week of September 10, high flow pumps will send 33 million gallons of water from the Ivanhoe Reservoir to the Silver Lake Reservoir, temporarily draining Ivanhoe to a depth of ten feet.  According to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Project Manager John Huynh, the reservoir is being drained so LADWP can comply with regulatory requirements to seal the water supply pipeline that connects the reservoirs.
