Red flag fire warnings and heat advisories were in effect this week in Los Angeles County, and officials say hot, dry conditions will heighten the risk of fire throughout the season. According to CD4 Councilmember David Ryu, Angelenos in need of heat relief can visit a City of Los Angeles cooling center and learn tips for staying cool at emergency.lacity.org/heat or by calling 311. Silver Lake residents and business owners are encouraged to sign up for fire text alerts from NotifyLA and LAFD and report fire hazards by emailing LAFDBrush@lacity.org. If you see smoke or fire without any obvious firefighter presence, call 911.
