In Memoriam: Rusty Millar

In April, Rusty Millar (wearing a blue jacket, front left in photo) joined representatives from the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, CD 4 and CD 13, and community organizations to celebrate the removal of 400,000 black plastic shade balls from the Ivanhoe Reservoir. The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council is sad to announce the passing of Wilson “Rusty” Millar. Rusty served Silver Lake as a Region 4 board representative and an executive officer, at various times since 2003. Most recently, he was elected to the Governing Board in 2016 and was re-appointed as Board Liaison to the LADWP, a position he took very seriously. Rusty unexpectedly passed away this month while in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was also an avid marathoner, competing in races across the globe and was one of the creators of the Road Runners Club. We send our condolences to Rusty’s family, friends, and associates.
