LADWP Begins Work on Reservoir South Dam Walkway

Council District 13 Field Deputy Mary Rodriquez reports that the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has begun to install the four-foot-tall fences that will line the new Silver Lake Reservoir South Dam pedestrian walkway. The walkway is scheduled to open in February 2018 and will span the crest of the dam, which is currently used as a service road.  LADWP security personnel will open existing security gates in the morning and close the gates at dusk. The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council held a special town hall meeting on May 22 to give members of the community the opportunity to ask LADWP representatives about plans for the proposed public walkway.
