CD4 Councilmember Ryu Supports SLNC’s Initiative to Ban Rat Poisons on City Property

In a recent letter to the SLNC, CD 4 Councilmember David Ryu expressed his support for the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council’s action to discourage the use of anticoagulant poisons on city-owned property. “Use of these toxic substances present far too much of a risk to our wildlife, pets, and children, said Ryu. “I look forward to working with the Neighborhood Council and the residents of Silver Lake to keep our parks and natural habitats safe, and improve our neighborhoods.”  In February, the SLNC voted unanimously to support a motion by the Green Committee urging businesses, residents, and the City of Los Angeles to no longer use or sell anticoagulant rodenticides (rat poisons) in Silver Lake. Read Councilmember Ryu’s letter here.
