CD4 Councilmember Ryu Calls for Legal Action Against Waze

Drivers directed by Waze to narrow Silver Lake streets have created dangerous conditions.

Councilmember David Ryu has asked L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer to take legal action against the popular traffic app Waze for creating public safety hazards on city streets. In a press release Councilmember Ryu, who represents a portion of Silver Lake, said, “Waze has upended our City’s traffic plans, residential neighborhoods, and public safety for far too long.” Commuters using the Waze mobile way finding technology have negatively impacted numerous streets in Silver Lake, including Baxter, Angus and Waverly. Read the press release and letter to the city attorney and view NBC4 coverage.
