2019 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count Presentation – Tonight @ 6PM

Tonight the SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition hosts a presentation by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and a panel discussion on Homelessness in Los Angeles.

Earlier this summer, we discovered homelessness has increased by 16% in the city of Los Angeles and 12% in Los Angeles County in the past year. LAHSA will present a more detailed look at the data compiled during the count, the reasons behind the increase, and what we can do to solve this crisis. The presentation will then be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Everyone In’s Caleb Crowder discussing the current state of homelessness and solutions towards ending homelessness on a county, city, council district, and community level.

Panelists:

Darius Derakshan, SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition
Christina Miller , The Office of The Mayor of Los Angeles
Senior Lead Officer Leo Rey, LAPD
Molly Rysman, The Office of County Supervisor Kuehl
Councilmember David Ryu, Council District 4
Douglas Walker, The Center at Blessed Sacrament
Stephanie Wolahan, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority

Please arrive early to meet members from your neighborhood councils and local community groups to learn more about what you can do to help end homelessness in the community.
