Announcing The First Annual Los Muertos de Silver Lake Celebration!

Please join us on Friday, November 1st for a new yearly community tradition: Los Muertos de Silver Lake Ancestral Celebration.

This event will take place from 3 – 9PM at Sunset Triangle Plaza (same area where the Silver Lake Farmer’s Market sets up) and will include altar building (supplies & guidance provided), Altar installation, Dia de los Muertos art exhibit, paper flower workshops, children’s art tent where they can make masks and crowns, Mariachi music, Aztec dancing, face painting and much more! Bring the kids and tell your neighbors to come along too.

Special Oral Presentation: David Hernandez, Chief Librarian at The Chicano Resource Center

Los Muertos de Silver Lake is an event to bring the community together to honor the memory of family, friends, neighbors, pets and other loved ones that have passed. There will be volunteers on hand to discuss the history and significance of this ancient Mexican tradition.

All ages, all faiths and all cultures are welcome at this FREE event.

Presented by Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, Silver Lake Improvement Association, Centro Cultural Oaxaca USA,The Neutra Institute Museum of Silver Lake and the Office of Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.
