Silver Lake & LA’s Green New Deal: What Can We Do?

Our battle against climate change is a moral imperative, an environmental emergency, and an economic opportunity. The city of Los Angeles is rising to the occasion with a plan that will lead the world toward a low-carbon, green-energy future: L.A.’s Green New Deal (the pLAn).

The pLAn is an expanded vision for all of LA—securing clean air and water and a stable climate, improving community resilience, expanding access to healthy food and open space, and promoting justice for all—and for the future we have to build on behalf of our children and grandchildren.

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council’s Green Committee invites all stakeholders to work with us toward understanding the modules of the pLAn and brainstorming ways for Silver Lake to help achieve pLAn targets. The Green Committee meets every third Thursday at 7 pm (https://silverlakenc.org/calendar/) or can be reached at green@silverlakenc.org. All are welcome. Full details on the pLAn are at https://plan.lamayor.org/.
